In his early signature works Tchah-Sup Kim brings the viewer to the bed of a dry mountain stream with his depictions of stones shaped by water. His renderings of their similarities and the subtle differences of their multitudes offer the viewer a chance to investigate the rigor of Kim's meditations.

Tchah-Sup Kim's solo exhibitions include: Associated American Artists Gallery, New York (1977); Space Gallery, Seoul (1979, 1984); Iteza Gallery, Kyoto (1986); Gallery Hyundai, Seoul (1993); Marronnier Art Center, Korean Culture and Arts Foundation, Seoul (2002); and Lee Joongsub Award Show at the Choson Il-bo Museum, Seoul (2003). His work was also exhibited in Acquisitions '73-'76 at the Museum of the Modern Art, New York; 30 Years of American Printmaking at the Brooklyn Museum (1974); and Six Artists from Korea at Grace Borgenicht Gallery, New York (1995). His work is represented in major public and corporate collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Brooklyn Museum, New York; Library of Congress, Washington, DC; Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea; Cincinnati Art Museum, Ohio; Virginia Museum of Fine Art, Richmond, VA; National Museum of Contemporary Art, Gwachon, Korea; Chase Manhattan Bank Art Collection, New York and many others.

Tchah-Sup Kim was born in Yamaguchi, Japan. He lives and works in Korea and New York.
