Jian-Jun Zhang: Water and Fire

Through the works in this exhibition, Jian-Jun Zhang refers to the natural world. Zhang, originally from mainland China, draws attention to nature by incorporating and illustrating natural processes with a minimum of his own intervention. Zhang provokes the viewer to think about such topics as the aesthetics of art with respect to the aesthetics of nature, the significance of human manipulation of the natural, as well as the roles of art, and the artist and the viewer in the world at large.
